Privacy Policy — CourseLab Beams: Shear & Moment
Effective date: July 3, 2026
CourseLab Beams: Shear & Moment is an Android determinate beam calculator for shear and moment published by BassThermal. In the app, it may appear as CourseLab Beams.
BassThermal does not sell personal data. CourseLab Beams does not require an account and does not operate a BassThermal cloud backend for beam calculations.
Local app data and device storage
CourseLab Beams is designed so beam calculations happen locally on your device. The app may store local state on your device, such as the current beam model, app state, and UI or app preferences, so your work can be restored. This data is not an online account and is not intentionally sent to BassThermal servers. You can remove local app data by clearing the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app.
Calculations, user content, and clipboard
CourseLab Beams supports vertical-load determinate beams, including simple beams, overhang beams, left and right cantilevers, point loads, uniformly distributed loads, applied moments, reactions, shear diagrams, bending moment diagrams, and calculation steps.
Beam dimensions, loads, supports, calculations, diagrams, and generated steps are processed locally in the app. BassThermal does not collect, store, sell, or use this beam content for advertising, profiling, or AI training unless you separately send that information outside the app.
When you use copy features, generated calculation steps may be placed on your device clipboard. Clipboard handling may also involve Android, keyboards, clipboard managers, or other apps according to your device behavior.
Ads and third-party services
CourseLab Beams uses Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK to show banner ads.
Google and its advertising partners may collect or process advertising-related data such as advertising identifiers, device and app information, IP address, app interactions, diagnostics, ad performance data, fraud-prevention signals, and similar data. This data may be used for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, security, compliance, and other purposes described in Google’s policies.
BassThermal does not control Google’s independent processing of advertising-related data. Platform providers such as Google Play, Android, device manufacturers, and Google AdMob may process data according to their own policies.
Data sharing
BassThermal does not sell personal data. BassThermal does not share CourseLab Beams beam dimensions, loads, supports, calculations, diagrams, or copied steps with third parties for advertising, profiling, or AI training because the app is not designed to send that beam content to BassThermal.
Data processed through Google AdMob is handled by Google and its partners according to their own policies and the choices available to you through Google, Android, and any available privacy controls.
Retention and deletion
Local beam models, app state, and settings remain on your device until you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. CourseLab Beams does not create user accounts, so there is no account deletion process. Data collected or processed by Google AdMob is retained according to Google’s policies and your Google/device privacy settings.
Educational use
CourseLab Beams is an educational and checking utility. It is not a sealed engineering design tool.
Children
CourseLab Beams is not specifically directed to children. The app is intended as a general educational utility.
Changes to this policy
BassThermal may update this privacy policy when CourseLab Beams changes, especially if new features add analytics, cloud sync, accounts, payments, crash reporting, or other data-related functionality.
